Creek County Literacy Program Announces Free Workshop Your Guide to a Healthy Brain
Free workshop provides information and materials for a healthier brain
Are you interested in keeping your brain healthy? Would you like tips and tricks to maintain a healthy brain?
Join Creek County Literacy Program and LIFE Senior Services as we explore ways to keep our brain and body healthy during this very interesting workshop. Brittany Sober, an Education and Caregiver Program Specialist with LIFE Senior Services, will share great tips on fitness, healthy food choices that promote a healthy brain and some of the facts about mental health.
Sober’s workshop will cover a variety of tips and tricks to help you keep a healthy brain. Sober will also have an exercise DVD as well as helpful tips and information to help participants stay active. The workshop will be held at the Library Annex, 15 North Poplar Street in Sapulpa on Tuesday, January 6 at 5:30pm. Brain-healthy snacks will also be available.
LIFE Senior Services is a non-profit United Way organization specializing in home and community-based services. LIFE promotes healthy aging and aging-in-place for seniors, as well as services and support for family caregivers playing a critical role in helping loved ones continue living at home. From Senior Centers for active adults 50+, to Care Management and Adult Day Health for older adults struggling to maintain independence, LIFE is committed to helping all seniors. LIFE’s services include helping beneficiaries understand Medicare options, to publishing a monthly senior magazine to developing affordable senior apartment communities.
This free event is a health literacy outreach project of Creek County Literacy Program, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, with funding provided by the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
